About Us
- About Eqvitus
A message from the Director
I founded Eqvitus with a clear and simple purpose, to provide a home that cares. From the outset, my ambition has been simple, to build environments where people are known, understood and treated as individuals. Our CARER framework, Caring, Accountability, Responsive Teamwork, Excellence and Respect, is not a statement of intent, it is the standard that shapes how we operate every day across each of our homes.
We have deliberately focused on smaller and high quality services. This allows for meaningful relationships, consistent care and a culture where detail is not lost. It ensures that every resident’s experience is personal, not routine driven and that our teams remain connected to the people they support.
My approach to leadership has been shaped by experience across all roles within a residential dementia care home, giving a practical understanding of what safe, effective and compassionate care looks like from the ground up. This is reinforced by my degree qualification in leadership and management and almost 20 years in the sector and 13 years at Director level, enabling a balanced and accountable approach. Technology is used with intent, to strengthen oversight, support teams and enhance the quality and consistency of care, never to replace the human element that sits at the heart of what we do.
Eqvitus has grown steadily and with purpose, from Belamie Gables in 2013 to Normanhurst in 2019, followed by Nashley House in 2024 and Gorselands in 2025.
As Nominated Individual and proprietor of each home, my responsibility is clear, to ensure that every service reflects the standard I would expect for my own family.
Outside of work, I enjoy travelling and have a strong interest in architecture and cars, alongside following Formula One and supporting McLaren.
- Who We Are
About Eqvitus
Eqvitus provides residential and dementia care within warm and welcoming environments, where individuals are treated with dignity, respect and compassion. Our aim is to create homes that feel comfortable, familiar and safe.
Our homes support older people and adults who require personal care, including those living with dementia. Each service offers a structured and supportive environment that promotes independence, wellbeing and quality of life. Communal areas, accessible gardens and dementia friendly features are designed to support orientation and daily engagement, while personalised bedrooms help residents maintain a sense of identity.
Care is tailored to each individual. Before admission, we carry out a thorough assessment to understand needs, preferences and routines. Care plans are developed with residents and families and are regularly reviewed to ensure support remains appropriate.
We value strong relationships. Families are kept informed and involved, and residents are supported to stay connected to their interests and communities.
Our teams receive ongoing training and development, including the Care Certificate and dementia specific training. We use digital care systems aligned with the NHS Digital Social Care Record programme, including Log My Care, to support accurate recording and communication.
Strong leadership, clear governance and continuous improvement underpin our services, ensuring our homes remain safe, supportive and focused on delivering high quality, person centred care.
