Our Care
Our Approach To Care
At Eqvitus Homes our aim is to provide compassionate, personalised care within a genuine community environment. We believe that the foundation of excellent care is listening carefully and understanding the unique needs, preferences and life history of every person who lives with us. Each resident is supported through an individual care plan that is thoughtfully developed around their wellbeing, independence and daily routines, helping them to continue living a meaningful and fulfilling life.
To ensure care is delivered safely, consistently and transparently, our homes use the NHS Digital Social Care Record approved Log My Care system. This secure digital care planning platform allows our care teams to record care and wellbeing updates in real time throughout the day. It ensures information is always accurate and up to date, supports strong communication between staff and helps maintain the highest standards of accountability and oversight.
Families are also able to access a secure relatives portal, which provides reassurance and transparency about their loved one’s care and daily life in the home. Through this portal families can receive updates, view wellbeing notes and stay connected with the care their relative receives. This approach helps ensure residents, families and professionals remain part of a shared and supportive care network.
Residential Care
Our residential care service provides a safe and supportive home for older people who may require assistance with daily living but wish to maintain as much independence as possible. Residents receive support with personal care, mobility, nutrition, medication and daily routines while continuing to enjoy the comfort and familiarity of a homely environment.
Life in our homes focuses on dignity, wellbeing and companionship. Residents benefit from nutritious home prepared meals, meaningful activities and social engagement, together with the reassurance that trained care staff are available day and night. Care plans are tailored to each individual and reviewed regularly to ensure support continues to reflect their changing needs.
Dementia Care
Eqvitus Homes provide specialist dementia care delivered by trained and compassionate staff who understand the challenges associated with memory loss and cognitive change. Our approach focuses on maintaining identity, promoting wellbeing and creating a calm, familiar environment where residents feel safe and understood.
Care is built around each person’s life story, personal preferences and individual abilities. Our teams use person centred approaches that support communication, encourage meaningful engagement and help reduce anxiety or confusion. Our homes are designed to be dementia friendly, supporting independence while ensuring safety and reassurance. Families remain closely involved in care planning so that residents continue to feel connected with the people and experiences that matter most to them.
Respite Care
Respite care offers short term stays that provide valuable support for both individuals and their families. Whether someone requires temporary care following a hospital stay, during recovery, or simply to allow family carers a well deserved break, our homes provide a welcoming and supportive environment.
Guests receive the same personalised care, accommodation and activities as permanent residents. Our team works closely with families and healthcare professionals to ensure a smooth transition into the home and a comfortable stay, with individual care plans developed to reflect each person’s needs and preferences. Our homes are also able to support placements under the NHS Integrated Care Board Discharge to Assess pathway, often referred to as step down or recovery care. This pathway allows individuals who are medically stable and no longer require hospital treatment to leave hospital safely while their longer term care needs are assessed in a more appropriate setting.
During a Discharge to Assess stay residents benefit from a safe and supportive environment where recovery can continue outside of hospital. Our care teams provide assistance with mobility, medication, personal care and daily living while working closely with NHS professionals and local authority teams who are involved in assessing future support needs.
For families this approach provides reassurance that their relative is receiving professional care and monitoring while decisions about longer term care arrangements are made. Our team works collaboratively with hospital discharge teams, Integrated Care Boards and local authorities to ensure safe transitions, clear communication and continuity of care throughout the recovery period.

Looking for care provision
My father moved into Clevedon Court Nursing Home last year in a quite unwell state, but with the staff’s care and attention to detail Dad is now thriving. We have been so impressed by the staff at the home who genuinely care about the residents and their well-being. A great example of this was that they enabled us to get my mum and dad together for their 65th wedding anniversary which was very special for us and challenging given the current circumstances. Clevedon Court is very well run and we are very happy with the service that Dad is receiving. Thank you!
My mother mainly suffers from dementia and has been a resident at Broome End 5 years. During that time staff have been extremely patient with her changing needs and personalities and have built up an excellent relationship with her. Broome End was chosen mainly for its family atmosphere and hasn't disappointed. Cleanliness and meals are second to none and activities offered always interesting and innovative. Their relationship with local surgery is excellent and I've promptly informed any changes in medication. Management and staff have been excellent during lockdown maintaining contact with my mother keeping me informed of changes and despite logistics facilitating visits safely.
My mother is doing really well since moving into Broome End care home. She enjoys it there and has made friends and is getting good care and plenty of attention. The staff are very understanding, helpful and polite. The home is very clean and my mother has a lovely room overlooking the well-kept garden that she loves to be in.
As a family, we are very fortunate to have found Broome End for Mum. She has been happy and settled there for some time. The care and compassion shown to Mum from the carers and all of the staff, from management to the cleaners, is amazing. We have been kept informed throughout these difficult times and all effort has been made to keep us in as close contact as possible. When we have been unable to go and see Mum in person, we have had no concerns whatsoever about her welfare, which has been invaluable. Our thanks, love and gratitude are sent to all the staff.
My Mum is at Clevedon Court and I have such faith in the carers and staff. They show such empathy and compassion. They always have a smile for the residents. Nothing is too much trouble. They try to bring happiness to each and everyone which has not been easy in this challenging year. They have worked tirelessly to keep standards high. Thank you on behalf of Mum and our family.
Clevedon Court is a Nursing Home that I would recommend to anyone, they work as a team, seeing the resident and their family as a package ensuring that both are happy and content with the care given. Our dad went to the Nursing Home to recuperate after spending time in hospital, he hated the idea as he liked being at home. To our shock and surprise, he loved Clevedon Court so much he decided to stay. The Clevedon Court team supported our family during this period allaying all our fears. Today our dad is happy, has everything he wants or needs and you cannot ask for anything more.
My aunt is frail but mentally very sharp for her age. The care she has received has been particularly appropriate as her needs as an individual have been established and well communicated across the kind, dedicated staff who care for her. During Covid the standards of safety at the home have been outstanding and although this limited our access we were so grateful that she was safe.
